WKTL Standards
CODE OFCONDUCT
Every member, competitor, judge, and affiliated venue upholds this standard. It is the shared commitment that keeps competitive knife throwing safe, fair, and respectful at every level of the sport.
OUR PLEDGE
As the global governing body of competitive knife throwing, the World Knife Throwing League holds every sanctioned event to one standard: safe, fair, and respectful competition. From a first league night to a world championship, everyone who steps to the line agrees to compete with integrity, to look out for one another, and to represent the sport with pride. This Code of Conduct applies to all disciplines — No Spin, Rotational, and Distance — at every WKTL-affiliated venue worldwide.
Our Principles
Safety First
Knives are handled responsibly at all times. Follow every lane, retrieval, and range-command instruction so the throwing area stays safe for competitors, judges, and spectators alike.
Respect for All
Treat every competitor, official, and venue staff member with courtesy — regardless of skill, background, or discipline. Good sportsmanship is expected in victory and in defeat.
Integrity & Fair Play
Compete honestly, score truthfully, and accept a judge’s ruling with grace. Cheating, score manipulation, and unsporting conduct have no place in sanctioned play.
Sober Competition
Compete free from any impairment. Throwing under the influence of alcohol or drugs endangers everyone in the venue and is prohibited during sanctioned events.
Zero Tolerance for Harassment
Harassment, discrimination, threats, and intimidation are never acceptable. Every participant is entitled to a welcoming environment free from abuse of any kind.
Care for Venues & Equipment
Respect the facilities, targets, and gear that make the sport possible. Leave every lane and venue in the condition you would want to find it.
ENFORCEMENT & ACCOUNTABILITY
Reported violations of this Code are reviewed by the WKTL Commissioner. Each report is assessed fairly and confidentially against the standards set out above.
Depending on the nature and severity of the conduct, sanctions may include a formal warning, suspension from sanctioned play, or removal from the League. Upholding these standards protects the integrity of the sport and everyone who competes in it.
